POSITION TITLE: Group Lead, Financial Reporting

LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta

Our client, EnCana Corporation, is a North American industry leader in unconventional natural gas and integrated oil development. It is among the largest holders of oil and gas resource lands in onshore North America.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Group Lead, Financial Reporting will be responsible for the preparation of consolidated financial statements, notes to consolidated financial statements and related supplemental disclosure, and consolidated financial analysis.

As an active participant in the Financial Reporting team, the incumbent will work closely with other Divisional Finance teams and other members of the Comptroller’s team to analyze data.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• University degree combined with a professional accounting designation- CA (preferred) /CGA/CMA
• 7 - 10 years relevant experience
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in Canada and the United States
• Strong knowledge of the oil and gas business
• Strong analytical skills, problem solving and decision making capability
• Superior project management, organizational and time management skills
• Motivated individual who is a team player with a positive attitude able to lead a team of professional accountants
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer and assist with the monthly preparation of consolidated financial statements and related information
• Support and assist in the month end processing and closing procedures necessary for preparation of consolidated financial information
• Ensure adequate accounting and reporting controls are in place to meet requirements for SOX compliance
• Other projects as assigned.
